Always a highlight of our winter calendar, the crew fired the fireworks display at “The Lyttleton Harbour Festival of Lights” street party on June 29th, with more than ten thousand revellers enjoying an evening of light, creativity and fireworks. Though this year’s show was tinged with great sadness for us, following the recent passing of our founder Anthony Lealand, in a fitting finale a dozen 5″ shells with hand written messages of thanks and farewell to Anthony were sent skyward.
Anthony’s children now join the core team as we work on some exciting projects over the next couple of months, including a trip to Germany. Firework Professionals is getting ready to compete at this year’s Hannover International Fireworks competition. Set in the beautiful Herrenhäuser Gärten, our pyromusical will be choreographed to a selection of music that includes one compulsary piece that all teams must use to open their displays. As the only country representing the southern hemisphere, we’re set to take the stage on September 15th. Wish us luck!
