Akaroa Bastille Day Firework Professionals have been busy brightening up this cold Christchurch winter with fireworks shows at local events including the Lyttelton Festival of Lights, Ferrymead Heritage Park's annual Stars and Stripes, 4th of July celebrations, and most recently the Akaroa Bastille Day commemorations where we lit up the harbour and peninsula, as pictured. QE2 Opening Ceremony of the Landfill Gas Pipeline On the 22nd of June 2007 the Prime Minister pressed the firing buttons for the opening ceremony of the QE2 pool complexes new landfill gas pipeline. As a pair of our fireballs rise into the sky, we injected coloured liquid fuel into the demonstration burner, to make the normally invisible methane flame burn visibly. The pipeline will run the boilers and generator at the complex for at least the next 10 years, saving millions of dollars of fuel costs and significantly reducing greenhouse gas emissions over that time. Relocation of Waihi's Cornish Pumphouse In February Firework Professionals worked with Liquid Pictures to celebrate the relocation of Waihi's historic Cornish Pumphouse. Prime Minister Helen Clark opened the pumphouse and several hundred guests watched the show on site as well as on a large screen set up in the town. |
